Today, we are a global community of farmers, winemakers, gardeners, beekeepers, researchers, advisors, trainers, certifiers, processors and traders to name a few.

Biodynamics is a form of sustainable, wholesome agriculture, based on the agricultural course given by Rudolf Steiner in 1924.
Today, Demeter farmers are working on more than 230.000 ha, in 65 countries. You can find Demeter certified products in many countries, mostly in natural health food stores, farmer’s markets and farm shops as well as in supermarkets. We are a diverse community
Demeter licensees can be found in all corners of the globe, using the biodynamic methods successfully on all continents, across the full gamut of climatic conditions. Whether bananas from the Dominican Republic, tea plantations in India, medicinal herbs in Egypt or the production of meat and wool in New Zealand – everywhere biodynamic production can be found it is adapted to local conditions.
We are a Federation with world-wide members
Demeter-International and the International Biodynamic Association (IBDA) joined forces in February 2020, at the annual conference of the Agricultural Section at the Goetheanum in Switzerland, to form the Biodynamic Federation Demeter International. This new international umbrella organisation unites all Biodynamic and Demeter organisations worldwide.
In the future, all biodynamic and Demeter organisations will work together to advise, decide and develop services for the international community spanning the fields of education, consultancy, research, certification, market development, marketing and political lobbying. The formation of the Biodynamic Federation Demeter International will support and develop the biodynamic movement and aim to take it from strength to strength. More
