Product Authenticity and Integrity
Demeter certification ensures that products are grown and processed without chemicals, GMOs, or artificial ingredients. When it comes to inputs, Demeter certified farmers and producers prioritise using natural preparations and minimising what is brought in from outside. In fact, the use of inputs is restricted by the Demeter Standard, reflecting a deep commitment to protecting the product’s authenticity and integrity. By following biodynamic principles, Demeter farmers enhance soil fertility and create thriving ecosystems — allowing crops to ripen naturally and develop exceptional quality.
Demeter quality stands for food in its most authentic form, beginning with the raw materials. Only ingredients that meet Demeter’s strict standards are used — grown without synthetic chemical pesticides, fertilisers, or genetic engineering — and cultivated using compost, cow manure, and seed-saving vegetable varieties. The natural and unadulterated quality of these ingredients is preserved through minimal processing. Demeter milk, for example, is pasteurised but not homogenised. This gentle handling helps retain the vitality and digestibility of the food. Many people who are sensitive to certain foods find that Demeter products are easier to tolerate — a benefit attributed to the integrity of the raw materials and the care taken during processing.
