Every year, the Biodynamic Federation Demeter International (BFDI) participates in Biofach, the world’s leading trade fair for organic food, held in Nuremberg, Germany. With more than 35,000 trade visitors and 2,200 exhibitors from around the world, Biofach is a unique platform to connect with international buyers and market partners.

As part of the BFDI collective stand, a limited number of Demeter-certified companies can join us as co-exhibitors and showcase their products alongside other biodynamic producers and processors.

Who can apply?

Applications are open to all active BFDI licensees who:

hold a valid Demeter license;
market certified Demeter labelled biodynamic products;
are interested in developing their business on international markets;
agree to comply with the Federation’s exhibition guidelines and shared stand rules.

Companies of all sizes are welcome to apply.

As Biofach is an international B2B trade fair, applicants should have the ambition and capacity, or a clear plan, to develop business opportunities beyond their domestic market.

Biofach brings together international buyers, importers, distributors, retailers, and food professionals from around the world.

You do not need previous export experience to participate. Small and medium-sized companies are encouraged to apply if they are motivated to develop international opportunities and follow up on contacts created during the fair.

To benefit from participation, companies should be prepared to:

communicate with international customers;
follow up on business opportunities after the fair;
adapt products, packaging, or volumes when needed;
organize export logistics if opportunities arise.

If you are unable to attend Biofach in person but would still like to test the market, we also offer the possibility to rent a product display shelf on the BFDI stand. Your products, business cards, and company information will be presented to interested buyers by our team, and you will receive detailed feedback on the contacts made and the level of interest generated during the exhibition.

As the Federation stand has limited capacity, it may not be possible to accommodate every applicant.

Yes. All eligible licensees are welcome to apply each year.

The Federation aims to present a diverse and complementary showcase of biodynamic products. Product diversity may therefore be taken into consideration when allocating the available exhibition spaces.
